The City of Chesterfield retained EDSI to serve as the prime consultant in advancing a sustainable design master plan into a detailed design and construction initiative encompassing 220 acres of land.
EDSI lead a team of five sub-consultants in the execution of multiple services including detailed facility planning, architectural design, civil engineering design, structural/MEP design and geotechnical investigation. Seven separate construction packages were required for the complete project, which encompassed 15 baseball/softball fields, nine baseball practice fields, nine soccer fields, two multiple-purpose fields, two football game fields and two practice fields, two concession buildings, two playgrounds, three parking lots and one maintenance building.
A critical issue adding to the project's complexity came when the City requested that football fields needed to be lit and fully served before the original deadline, so the fall season would not be interrupted. EDSI coordinated with MSD and local utilities to accommodate the need without increasing costs or compromising deadlines.

EDSI was selected as a sub-consultant to provide a comprehensive site design plan for a new 54,000 sq. ft. school to replace an existing school on this three-acre site.
Infrastructure specifications included a stormwater management plan, asphalt parking lot for 148 vehicles, plus an easy-access loading dock service area.
A critical issue in this project was to keep the existing school building open and functional during construction. EDSI fenced off areas to protect children and construction equipment, and phased the work to minimally disrupt staff/students and peak traffic flows.

EDSI was selected as a sub-consultant to provide an extensive site design plan for a new 144,000 sq. ft. school to replace a 77-year-old facility on a 9.25 acre site.
Infrastructure specifications included a stormwater management plan, asphalt parking lot for 148 vehicles, plus an easy-access loading dock service area.
A critical issue with this project was that the land for the new school building had been used for years as an uncontrolled "dump area" with unanticipated levels of unusable soil. EDSI directed the environmental mediation of the area, replacing the existing soil with good engineering-quality soil to achieve a suitable sub-grade condition.

EDSI was retained as a sub-consultant to provide topographic surveys and site design services for the expansion and complete renovation of this plant, which was originally constructed in the 1960's.
Our survey crews first completed a thorough documentation of the current site, establishing the horizontal and vertical control, identifying existing utility information including all storm sewer structures and piping, locating all existing treatment plant facilities, roads and roadside features within the boundaries of the treatment plant.
The site design phase consisted of preparing detailed site plans to show proposed improvements, access roads, storm drainage, grading, surface restoration, and all other site improvements.
